“It’s alright. It’s beautiful out anyways… besides I rather be out here than doing math.” Ok that was probably the absolute worst thing to say when you’re supposed to be tutoring someone. Way to go Terra. Way to go, “Although they asked me to be your tutor, I’m most likely going to damage your math skills instead of helping them.” She didn’t like this at all, but he seemed nice enough
She looked him over, he was taller than her, bigger than her thin little body and had some muscle going on there.
“Heh, yeah. Math ain’t my thing either, yo.” Beat chuckled, leaning back against the trunk of the tree. He was rather amused that even his tutor didn’t seem to be fond of math. Why they insisted he learn how to do trivial problems, he’d never understand. “It’s aight,” he shrugged. “I don’t know wha’ th’ hell any ‘a this means anyway.” He laughed, gesturing at the pile of math assignments on the ground next to him.

“We have to explain why we think it had a positive effect on it’s era and on future generations, making it a significant event in history.” Larxene looked over at Beat and arched an eyebrow at his broed expression. Well this won’t be easy. She huffed and stood up, “If you going to be difficult about this fine! I’ll just do it myself and give you the talking points before we have to present in class.” She stormed off over to the stacks, trying to calm herself down.
Beat was about to ask where they should start, but the other stormed off before he had the chance to. He sighed; got up and walked over to her. “Woah woah woah, calm ya tits, girl. I was jus’ askin’ a question, ya don’ need ta wig out on me, yo.” As much as he didn’t want to work on the assignment, it seemed he’s going to have to at least try to help, if only to prevent Larxene from biting his head off.

She rolled her eyes and sighed, “Yeah I know it is. That’s why it’s not worth getting a zero for not doing it.” Larxene looked over at him and an idea popped into her head, “Actually..you like music right? Well you seem to do, and correct me if I’m wrong, but why not do something on Woodstock. It might make this project a little more exciting.”
“If ya say so,” he shrugged. Beat didn’t really care what sort of grade they got on this assignment. He idly tapped his pencil on the table as he listened to the other speak. “Yeah, we could do it on Woodstock if ya want.” He yawned, glancing around the room. “What are we s’posed ta write ‘bout it?”
Outside the walls of the asylum it was a bright day. The sun was shining and the wind was warm even. A perfect day. Inside the asylum… it was an asylum. People walked through the halls with bored, tired eyes and everyone seemed down. And the brunette had just about enough of it.
He moved out the front doors, tossing them open haphazardly secretly grateful that no one was around to get smacked with them as he opened the doors. Still it didn’t seem to matter. Breathing in the air was like breathing for the first time in a while. He let out a deep sigh of relief stepping off the front steps. To the beach! Not many of the other other patients seemed to be about, and those who were were still hanging around the front area. That part only made Sora more motivated to get out. He wanted… no needed some peace and quiet even if it was to get to the beach and run around screaming. He need the break.
The few minutes took a get to the shore felt like ages but it didn’t matter. He move straight to the water, casting his shirt to the side without a care and diving into the water.
Beat had been cooped up inside the dreary asylum for far too long. By his standards, anyway. So when he found out there was a beach nearby that patients were allowed to go to and from freely, he was quite excited. Classes and therapy sessions be damned, he was going to the beach today.
He left most of his belongings in his room; it wasn’t like he needed much to go to the beach. Being careful to avoid any teachers that may be in the halls, he walked out of one of the side exits and toward the beach. It took a while longer than he expected to get there, but the blonde didn’t particularly mind, since it was such a nice day.
Once he arrived, he wasted no time in stripping down to his shorts and leaping into the water. He swam around for a while, glad to be out of the asylum. It would be perfect if there was a surf shop nearby, although he hadn’t seen one yet. Perhaps he’d look around later for one. But for now, he was content to float adrift in the gentle waves near the shore. Until, that is, a certain brunette landed right on top of him.
“Bwaaah!” He yelped in surprise, as they both sunk deeper into the water. He resurfaced quickly, and spat out a mouthful of salt water.
Why do I have to have to tutor someone?! I’m terrible at math and you know it!
It’ll allow you to learn along with him
Terra sighed replaying that conversation. She was most likely going to damage the guy’s knowledge than help it. What on earth were they thinking? She could barely make out the gibberish the equations were.
She noticed the guy they had described to her. Sleeping. Better than her studying with him. He probably knew a world more than her. But if she didn’t want to get in trouble. She gently shook him, “Hey, wake up… “
Beat startled awake as he felt someone shaking him. He quickly sat up and pushed his beanie away from his eyes; looking around. “Huh? Wha’?” He yawned, briefly wondering why the girl had woken him up. Until he realized that she was most likely his math tutor, and he’d fallen asleep before she’d even arrived. That had to be a new record.
“Oh jeez, sorry. Didn’t mean ta fall asleep there.” He smiled sheepishly, hoping she wouldn’t chew him out for it. Math was painful enough as it was; he certainly didn’t need an angry tutor. Beat glanced down at the ground for a moment to look for a few of the worksheets they were supposed to do today. He picked up the small pile of papers and frowned slightly. This wasn’t going to be fun.

Larxene looked up from her ipod and stared at the guy that just walked. He must be her partner, “Yeah. That must mean you’re Beat.” She smirked over at him as she sat up, he was kinda cute, “So the topic is kinda of stupid, but it counts for forty percent of our grade, so we might as well do it. We just have to pick an event that we find significant in history, in a positive way.” She sighed and leaned her head against her hand.
“Tha’s me,” he drawled as he begrudgingly sat down at the table. He listened to her explanation of the assignment, and immediately grew bored of it. “Uhh…wha’? Tha’s dumb, yo.” Beat absentmindedly flipped through the pages of his history book, before closing it and pushing it aside. “I dunno. Got any ideas?” He asked as he leaned back in his chair.
